MSA ATV Wheels and EFX Tires take on Georgia

Some recap from our sponsored racer Mike Dalton who just finished the ECORS race in Durham Town Georgia.

Arrived friday afternoon to Durham Town GA  (ECORS race). Started pre-running to find out many of the competitors had been there all week already practicing so with a little disadvantage on our back we researched the course. Many of the other racers complained of cut tires due to the new course having multiple tree stubs sticking up, and trees that kept jumping out in the course so we mounted up and took to the trail, pre-ran it with no problems and at a very competitive speed!

Saturdy morning we lined up at 7:30 am and it was already 90 by then, talk about sweating your ass off with a 2 layer firesuit on!!

By 8:15 am we took off the start line to drop down in the woods and onto a Moto GP track.  We started in 4th position so a small amount of dust had already been stirred up with the 10 sec interval start but we made good progress into the jumps going full throttle and creating a good pace for the 1st 3 miles. It was then I hit a g-out at 40+mph, destroyed the steering and rung my bell!!!

I pitted after the first lap to find my tierod was kinda of “u shaped”, to say the least, but I decided to continue on because I had another 1hr and 45mins of race time left. On the 3rd lap I unfortunately got caught up in the woods with slower traffic and could not pass for almost 2 miles. Got out eventually and aother lap in I bent the damn steering wheel from taking such a hard landing – no good!! Got it back in line but by now I had lost a substantial amount of time and could not catch the leaders. We revalved the shocks last week and by mid race they started to fade and bottom out over every jump to say the least I cant hardly walk today! Gotta love the ass whipping you take.  I wish all my other parts held up as good as my wheels and tires!

I saved the car and ran the race and finished 9th – we’ll get em next time!
